A Sad Story

I'm going to tell you a sad story that happened when I was nine years old. Well, I was born in Kentucky and that is where my mother and her family was born and raised. Well my moms birthday was a month after I was born and my dad got my mother a great dane puppy named Polo. My mother was going to name him Palo, but my sister who was a year and a half, couldnt pronouce Palo and said Polo and that is how this sweet puppy's name came to be. Well, Polo was like a big brother to my sister and I. He was just a few months older than me so we grew up together. He used to strech his large body across our couch and he would put his arm around me as I layed next to him on the couch. He was almost as big as a horse and watched over my sister and I as if we were his own children. He was a very sweet and noble dog and truely saved our lives many times. When my sister was two years old, Polo saved her from a large pitbal that was being aggresive with her. My sister and I used to ride him like a horse and he would lick up from our heads to our toes. =)

As you know, dogs dont live forever. It was my ninth birthday and my parents wanted to do something extra special because my birthday is in the summer. This seemed to be the biggest mistake we ever made. Anyway, we wanted to go to a water park so my family went to a really nice and large water park in Texas. It was huge and amazing! Well, I had a great ninth birtday, but while Polo was back in the kennel in Utah, he wasnt having the greatest time. You see, when you have a great dane, they have to get a lot of exercise and can not eat more than two small meals a day. My dad specifically told the people that were taking care of our dog that he needed special care or like other great danes as well, he can get bloat. Which is when great danes are not taken care of well and thier stomach flips over.

Well you guessed it, the people in the vet didnt treat him well and he got bloat. We couldnt do anything about it because we were in Texas first of all and second of all, We didnt even know about it! Well back in Texas, we were watching the news and there were predictions of bad weather in Texas so we decided to head back home. It was two days after my birthday and we were all happy and having a good time when my mother's cell phone rang. It was the Vet. We found out about Polo and how he had bloat at the moment. They had waited 6 hours before they called us so my dog had been suffering for that long! The people apologized and asked if we wanted to do surgery or just put the poor creature down. My family talked about it. Well, the thing was, when Polo was younger, he got hit by a car and his hip and toe were injured and he was still in pain from the accident. We made our decision. They... put Polo.....asleep....:'(

Well I hope he is in a better place now, and I will never forget the strong memories he carved into my life.

Roller Coasters!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am seriously in love with roller coasters! The ironic thing is, I am terrified of heights! I just love the adrenaline rush I guess. I love going to Lagoon and riding the Wiked! The lines are always amazingly long, but the thirty seconds of the wind blowing in your face and the butterflys in your stomach makes it worth it. When I ride a roller coaster, my stomach is twirling in circles and I get really dizy I must admit, but I have so much fun in the moment! Unfortunaltey, Lagoon is getting kind of old. I have riden all the roller coasters a million times each and they are still a blast but not as much as they used to be. I wish I lived in California! There are tons of amusment parks. I cant belive that not too long ago I was terrified to go on roller coasters and now you cant keep me off them. For instance, last time I was in California, my big brother Andy took my sister and I to Six Flags. Even though we both love roller coasters we were both kind of nervous when we say how big the red roller coaster was that layed in front of us. It was the largest in the park and went really, really, really, really, really, did I say really, really high. It was called the Medusa and the lines were really short. I took a large gulp and held my sisters hand as I sat in the seat next to her. Then, BAM! I was flying! I was being tugged in different directions and I felt...AWESOME! By the time it was done, I noticed that my sister was as thrilled as I was. We rode that roller coaster about six or seven times that day including the others as well. When I got home and back to Utah, my sister and I went to Lagoon. It was super mellow. I finnaly knew what it felt like to ride a real roller coaster.

Food!

Right now I am very hungry so I am going to talk about food! I must tell you now that I am not a picky eater at all! I love to eat all sorts of foods. The only food I don't enjoy are mushrooms. Anyway lets get back to my favorite foods. I put food into six catagores which include, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and American. Lets start out with Italian, my favorite food group. I love hot, thin pizza, tender meatballs and soft spagetti, chicken and fetticini alfredo, chicken parmesan, and ravioli of all shapes, sizes, and fillings. I also love Italian dessert. My favorite is Tiramisu. It is a dessert with a nice coffee flavor because it has these lady fingers dipped in coffee and they are surrouned by this unique creamy sustance and to top it all off with some sprinkled ground cocoa. Its amazing and mouth watering! The next food group is Chinese with its hot and spicy curry chicken, BBQ pork fried rice, amazing fried crab rangoon (deep-fried dumpling with an inner core of delectible creamy cheese and crab), meat dumplings, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, and chicken teriyaki. Then there is spicy Mexican food. It has mouth watering faitas, beef, chicken, and cheese enchiladas, Mexican rice, refried beans, burridios, and tacos! I also love their popular dessert of flan or fried ice cream. Then, last but not least, is the American food. With our favorite traditional dishes. I dare not name any for then I would have to name all my favorite dishes and that would take a life time! I will say this, I love God for making all the amazing ingredients to make my favorite dishes!!!!

My Vacation in December

This December I am going to go visit My brother Brian, my sister-in-law Lynda, and my nephew Taylor. It's going to be so much fun! Every time we visit their house in Simi Valley, California, we have a lot of fun. Its' been such a long time scince we have seen them. Their house is very nice as i remember it. I love them all equaly. First in the house was brian. He used to be a actual rock star when he was younger. His voice is said to be amazing, but i have never heard it. Lynda has an amazing cooking skill and she is a great teacher when she helps Taylor with his homework each day. Then of course comes the mischef of the house, TAYLOR CROW! Taylor, Lynda and Brian's son and my nephew is spoiled. His room had a never ending pile toys and I am sorry to say that his parents have spoiled him. They get him pretty much whatever he wants. I still love him though. I havent seen any of them for a few years and I surprised to even belive that Taylor is now around 9-10! I rememeber him when he was about six. He would run around the house with his action figures, singing versus of his favorite songs from the band Kiss, and often repeating the word that his father accidentally slipped out of his mouth known as adult language. I think it is hilarious myself, but Brian and Lynda didn't enjoy it too much. Taylor's favorite thing to do was to play with his pirate toys. He would also use his cats' back as a action figure carrier and they didn't particularly enjoy that. I think it is going to be so awkward to see Taylor so grown up. He will be so much more mature. Well I'm not saying he is going to act like Alexader Dumas or something, he just will be very... different. I wonder if his parents still spoil them like they used to? I wonder if he will have better manners? I wonder if he is still in love with every sport there is? I will never know until this December. I am truly exited because my sister Christen, and I have had so much good memories there.
