I have made it through a full year of honors English! I have made it through my first year of high school! I have earned amazing grades! I am proud of my accomplishments this year and I'm glad I did what I needed to to pass this year.

I want to make a shout out to all my friends at Fairfield. You all supported me and kept me going and happy. :) I will never forget the memories we made together at our last year at Fairlfied Jr. High! RANDOMNESS

I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO TALK ABOUT, SO THIS IS GOING TO BE A BLOG OF RANDOMNESS.:) :)

I turned on the silver light. It shined brightly in my eyes. I squinted to find the switch again. I turned it off.

The small girl entered the candy shop. Her eyes were set on one thing. It sparkled in the fluorescent light as it was covered in transparent shiny plastic. Her mouth watered as she stared into the lollipop larger than her face. She struggled in her pocket for some spare change, but was found disappointed.

Derrik:
My sister has this friend from her high school named Derrik. HE IS THE MOST AWESOME KID EVER! He can do all these kick-butt magic tricks. One of them you have to pick a card from his stack of face cards, he has you write your name on it, Then you put the card back into the stack. He shuffles the cards several times and in some magical way, He pulls your card out of his mouth. IN another trick, he handed me ten cards. We counted them out and I put them in my back pocket. Then from the remains of the card deck, he made five cards disappear. Then I drew the cards from my pocket and found five more than I had before. Another trick he did included my sister's cell phone and a balloon. He blew up the balloon and slapped the cell phone against the surface. He did various other tricks that drive you crazy with curiosity.

That isn't the only AWESOME thing about Derrik. He is the funniest kid you will ever meet. And he is SEXY! :) hahaha

Last night I came home from my friend Mindy's house and in my room was Christen, Derrik, and Tyler. They were watching Jeepers Creepers. I watched the last twenty minutes of it. It wasn't as scary as I expected. The only thing that makes the movie scary is if you were one of the victims of Jeppers Creepers.

There is one thing that is wrong with all scary movies. They make the victims soo stupid! Such in, When A Stranger Calls, DONT ANSWER THE PHONE. Or in Jeppers Creepers, there is this part when They try to run over Jeppers Creepers with their car but he just ninja jumps over the car. Why can't they just drive away? She keeps backing up and driving forward trying to hit him but doesn't succeed until the end and he ends up coming back and becoming more angry in the first place.

The Sky Coaster

My best friend and I walked toward the familiar amusement park last Tuesday as I took the crumbled piece of paper out of my pocket. I read, "The Get to Know You Party. Free dinner and rides." Mindy, Our friend Jenna, and I all worked at Lagoon and they were having an Employee Party. Everyone always said how much fun they were and, now, we were about to find out.

We followed the arrowed signs and they lead to a very large crowd. As we got closer, I noticed that that crowd was split up into lines. There was white tables at the end of each line and above the tables were signs with the names of work departments. Her eyes were about the same place as mine as Mindy read aloud, "Foods, Games, Merchandise, etc." We lined up behind the food line. I looked ahead to see a few familiar looking faces from our school. Quite a few ninth graders were working here this year. As we gradually got to the front of the line, a girl asked for my name and she checked it off a list. Then we were given three cards. One of the cards was a coupon to a free Icee, another was for a free prize, and the third one was for dinner. Then we were given a choice on the fourth card. Would we want to go racing on go-carts or would we want to ride the Sky Coaster? The Sky Coaster. Mindy and I had promised to each other that we were going to ride that together at least once before the end of the summer. We looked at each other and at the same time, we picked up a Sky Coaster card as Jenna followed.

A man who seemed to be a supervisor yelled out, "Hey employees, the kitchen closes earlier than everything else so you should hurry up and eat." Jenna found a group of her friends from her school and told us she would wait in line with them and we would meet up with her later. We both nodded and headed to the employee kitchen. It was crowded with people and we got in line. We both got cola which turned out to be flat, and took a bowl full of white rice and orange chicken as we threw our cards in a small box. Mindy picked a table where we sat and ate. I was surprised to find that the chicken wasn't that bad. I grabbed a packet of soy sauce and poured it on. "What should we do next?" I asked Mindy. "I think you know," she replied with a smile.

We started to head out of the cafeteria when I saw a few more familiar faces in line to get their food. "KELSEY!" I tackled her with a hug. Kayla was with her and I greeted her. "We have been screaming your name over here," Kayla said. I laughed. "I didn't hear anything." I was sort of deaf though.

We left the employee kitchen to see Jenna eating with her friends on a table outside. "We are going to go ride the Sky Coaster," Mindy informed her. She spoke of it as if it was nothing. I thought she wasn't at all afraid.

We started to head over in the direction as we looked up at the Sky Coaster. You have to put on these special jacket/vest things on, then you walk onto this platform where you are raised above the ground as you are connected to one or two other people by a small hook on your side. They rise you higher than the whole park by a wire then they tell one of you to pull a small string that lets you free fall straight down to your death when you swing back up in the other direction and keep swinging back and forth until you stop. It looks terrifying, but everyone who gets off says the same thing, "That. Was. Awesome."

"I'm so scared!" "Me Too!" We said to each other over and over. She walked past as if she wasn't interested in going on the ride with my arm hooked in hers. "Mindy, I am as terrified as you. If we don't go now, we are going to regret it for the rest of our lives. You know it." We spoke of it as If was a choice between life or death. She agreed. We both knew it was true. We walked to the back of the line. There was Jenna again walking with her friends. Mindy notified for her to come over here. "Get in line." "I'm so scared." We heard the familiar term. "So are we," I said, "but get your butt in line. You are riding this if you like it or not." She laughed but got in line with us. The scared feeling seemed to fade. I didn't have any feelings for the ride anymore. It felt as if I had to ride it. Nothing was stopping me. I was determined.

Then came Kelsey and Kayla. "We just rode the go-carts." We were getting closer and closer to the front of the line. The butterfly queasy feeling returned to my stomach. "Why didn't you choose this one?" "We are too scared." For a moment, I regretted our choice. Then I remembered my and Mindy's oath. "So am I, but I will regret it later if I don't do it." A woman asked for our tickets. We got them out of our pockets, then Jenna hesitated. "I can't find it!" she said to the woman. "I have waited in line this whole time, can I please ride it?" "No ticket, No ride," she replied. We all stared in disappointment. She sighed. "Well, I guess today is your lucky day." She opened the gate and let her through. We all smiled and laughed. They had us put on the weird vest things and got in place. Can I do this? "I am so scared right now!" I said. Kelsey and Kayla still stood by the gate. They were going to watch us ride. "Me too." Mindy said. I was shaking and I didn't know why. It was just a ride. I had to get the feeling in my stomach to vanish. I started to scream verrry loudly. People started to laugh. I laughed at myself. I was glad that I was making Jenna and Mindy feel better and I was making myself feel better too.

The guy opened the gate for us and we walked down this narrow pathway to this platform. These two guys hooked us together. "This isn't happening!" Mindy said. "Are we going to die?" Jenna asked in a daze. "Yes," the guy replied as he laughed. They began rise us towards the sky as we looked straight down at them. "No!" I said. "No!" Mindy said. "I don't wanna pull the string!" Jenna continued. We were almost to the top. Everything below began to get smaller and smaller. "Are you ready?" the intercom said. "NOOOO!" we yelled in unison. "Three.Two.One.." Jenna pulled the string. Everything flew past us and we free-fell through the sky. I was screaming my head off and Mindy continued laughing at me. We flew across to the other side where I saw Kelsey and Kayla staring up at us. "I LOVE YOU KELSEY!" I screamed. They laughed at us. We continued to swirl back and forth until we reached a halt. As we began to walk again, my feet felt weightless and we barley spoke. "How was it?" people asked.

We replied, "That. Was. Awesome."

My First Day

Today was my first day of work.

Lets just say, it had its ups and downs. :)

I actually managed to look less than half of an idiot on my first day of work at Lagoon wearing my tight tan pants, muddy converse, wrinkled green t-shirt, ugly hat, and (for once) neat apron. Today, I would be working around six hours. The man at the front desk of the foods office greeted me and sent me off to the station I would be temporary be working at for today. He had told me the food stands I would be working at were next to the Carousel ride, and that the door was off to the side.

I always find that when I am searching for something important, such as the door in plain sight that led into the area I would be working today, I seem to go blank and cannot point out the obvious. I circled the building once, and I tried to get into the building from the back. The door was locked. I walked to the front again and I peered through the window you order and purchase you food to see a manager in their usual dark blue shirts helping a boy work the cash register. It looked like it was his first day of work as well. I went up and asked her how I could actually enter the building so I could start working. She pointed out the obvious door that was about ten feet from where I was standing. Wow. I AM a genius. The boy she was helping tried his best not to laugh and in the mean time, I hurried inside before he did. I found my way to the manager who took me to sign up sheet where I kept track of my breaks and hours and where I would be working.

She then took me to the most luckiest place I could of worked, with the laughing boy. The section we worked in served Mexican food. She showed me the cash register and I handled it like a professional. My self esteem hired ten points when the boy looked impressed. The manager acted, however, as if it wasn't a big accomplishment. I didn't expect her to because she had probably been working there for around six years.

Finally, We got to learn the funnest part of working in the food division at Lagoon, the cooking. It doesn't necessarily take a rocket scientist to prepare the processed food, but it really entertained me. I was surprised how much fun I had when we tried cooking after she demonstrated the correct way.

The work day started out slow. There was barley any customers and it was too early in the morning for any of my friends to text me. I thought the whole day was going to end up like this. The boy and I talked for a while and he seems like a pretty nice guy. As the day aged and the rain filled clouds faded, Lagoon became more busier that I would have expected. The boy and I traded off the cooking stand. I had fun with everything: the cash register, the cooking, and talking to people.

There was only two things I despised so far. One thing was when you didn't have any customers, and the second was the irritating plastic gloves you had to wear and change after each order.

After I got back to my break, the manager assigned me to an Icee selling place across from the main building. It was a small building about 1/4 the size of my amazingly large bedroom. The manager showed me how to make churros, pretzels, and Icees of course. She seemed afraid to leave me alone. She didn't think I could handle the stand all by myself. I was on her side in a way, but a part of me wanted to prove us wrong.

I began to despise the Icee building. The heat of the sun blazed down on the small building and It took the effect of an oven. There was a fan in the the room. What a way to make my day the best! Wait, it was broken. I would of stuck my head under the Icee faucet and started chugging that think until nothing was left, but the manager came in and checked on me without notice.

There was yet another thing that made my day the greatest! There was two metal box-like ovens. One of the boxes had a metal drawer that came out that you would place the churros on Then, you needed to wait seven minutes until they were golden brown before you covered them in mouth watering cinnamon (are you hungry yet?). The other machine had a chain like device such as the ones that are on bicycles, except much thicker. You are supposed to set your salt covered pretzel on the side that faces up, and it would turn until it would fall off the spinning device into a metal container where it would be removed and served. In between the two machines was a cinnamon container where you would coat the churros and a salt container where you would coat the pretzels. I sat there, no wait, STOOD there coating one of the fresh churros when my arm hit the side of the machine and my arm immediately pulled back as I felt a sharp pain on the side of my arm. My arm felt as if a wasp had stung me twenty times in the same spot. I ran across the room, which didn't take long, turned up the sink as hight as possible, and shoved my arm under the facet for the cold satisfaction.

There are two more things I hate about Lagoon. I hate the heat of the sun and the heat of the oven.

Ok, Ok. I am going to stop sounding like a pathetic wining child and describe the great things that happened today.

Well first, as you already know, cooking today was a blast. I got to learn how to make a LAGOON burrito, soft taco, hard taco, nacho supreme, churro, and pretzel. I thought I would be starving the whole time as I dealt with food, but I was having too much fun making it to notice how good it might of tasted.

The next great thing was when you take your half an hour breaks. The Employee Kitchen had really tasty food, believe it or not. The best part, you get to sit down! My legs are soo sore from standing for five hours and If it wasn't for the two breaks I was graciously rewarded, I wouldn't of been able to make it through the first day.

The next ACTUAL best experience of the day, was when I walked out of the office checking out my time card. It was pouring rain. The cool rain drops felt good on my warm skin regardless of how much the temperature dropped. Another plus: I finally finished walking up the sidewalk that leads to the front of Lagoon's parking lot when I turned around. A large rainbow filled the sky. It was quite coincidental overall. I was sore and was getting annoyed by the rain when everything stopped and the sun came shining out. A rainbow stretched across only Lagoon itself.

If this keeps up, I might be able to handle this summer. :)

What can Saliva do?

In science class, we have to do termly magazine reviews. You have to find a magazine article based on anything in science, and write an essay about it. Today when I was typing my report, the article I found was quite interesting to me. It describes how saliva can effect wounds. My essay below is based off the actual article by Karen Wright. It is in order in paragraphs: introduction, summary, opinion, supporting opinion, and conclusion. I hope you enjoy!

Why Wound-Licking Works
Article written by: Karen Wright
Summary below written by: Mieko

You accidentally slide your finger on a sharp corner. Before you know it, your thumb has blood spilling out the side and a pierce of pain shoots through your finger. You squeeze your finger in agony and you desperately run it under some hot water as you look for a band-aid to wrap it in. Would the thought ever run through your mind to lick the wound better? Why would you want to?

According to scientists, your human saliva has healing ability. In the past, it has always been suspected that saliva may be able to heal wounds because any cuts or sores in the mouth heal the quickest and rarely leave scars. Your saliva has simple proteins called histatins that can get rid of and heal infections. Biochemist Menno Oudhoff discovered that histatins have an element in them that closes the skin wound preventing it from any more exposure from infecting bacteria as well. They tested the theory on a needle scratch with the histatins, and the wound healed twice as quicker as it normally would.

I am fascinated by the discovery of the Dutch scientists. I think that this discovery can help greatly for people all over the world. This piece of information is very valuable. The only problem I find is, If you were to actually lick your open wound, wouldn’t you be opening your tongue to the bacterial that infected the wound itself? Are you not supposed to actually lick your skin but just get some of your saliva and apply it to the wound?

Lets say, that you cut your finger across a sharp corner such as in my introduction example. This break through could help in my opinion because you are killing the infection. If you use your saliva, you are closing the wound up so no more bacteria can affect it and you are also making it heal twice as fast as normal. I also have some doubts about this idea. If you literally lick your wound, won’t you be infecting your tongue itself by putting the bacteria from the wound, on your tongue?

So as you can see, saliva is more useful than most people would expect. It can heal wounds at great speed and can help people all over the world. I think I will personally try this scientific break though out myself. How can you put this plan in action? Next time you get a paper cut, lick it better.

TRY THIS OUT, IF YOU DARE! :P

Living Things

I'm sorry this post is sort of late. I just started working and I have been sort of busy. This is not really a forgivable excuse, but I will try to get all the rest of my blogs in on time. Thanks. :)

Have you ever wandered off deep into your mind, and wondered if there are other living things out there? Have you ever thought life may exist beyond earth? I know I have. Myself being Christian, (I'm not saying you have to to believe along these lines) I think that God wouldn't just create one, single planet. Why would there just be one single planet capable of life?

We might never be able to discover other planets that can contain life forms, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they cannot exist. We only know of eight planets that revolve around one single star. When you look up at the stars at night in the cool breeze, and you see how many are spread across the sky, don't you think that in even maybe one of those solar systems, there might be at least one other planet similar to earth, that organisms evolved into creatures that are as intelligent or even more than we are?

I am not saying, however, that a planet that contains life has to be like earth. When organisms first formed on our planet, they adapted did they not? Why couldn't organisms adapt to another planet with different resources?

There might even be a chance that organisms or living things out there have thought the same thing about the existence of us. They might even of been able to of created a break in technology that we will not discover for decades. The might be able to have successful space travel and be able to leave their galaxy. If such things exist, they might of been able to explore our galaxy, they maybe even have soared above our planet and explored it for a while.

Just thinking... ;)

What Happened in Vegas :)

You are drowning in heat in the steaming car with nothing to do for six, long, painful hours. The water is warm, the air conditioner broke, the cookies you have been snacking on for the last two hours are starting to get bland. You try looking at the scenery, but all around you is a few mountains and a straight road for the next 100 miles or so. Why would you do this? There is an excitement waiting for you up ahead. It is filled of so much excitement and relaxation from your normal life so you crave the fun. You are willing to waste six hours get there. What is waiting for you? A large, large city is waiting for you. A place so careless, you have no worries. To sum it all up into one word, I call this place: Vegas! :) :) :)
This is just a picture I took the night we got there. I'm sorry that some of the pictures are blurry. I was trying to keep up with my sister and my parents in the crowd while trying to take pictures at the same time.

We finally reached it. It was about ten o'clock at night and my sister and I could hardly contain ourselves in the tiny Subaru. As we looked across the horizon is was just one large belt of lights set across the ground. As we drove into the city, my parents pointed out our hotel, It was huge! I couldn't help but smile and laugh. The journey was over.

Our hotel the Mirage

Our room was very nice. There was a television on the wall across from the two queen beds around 1 1/2 ft by 2ft. We had one window that viewed the whole pool and much of Vegas and its hotels and restaurants. At night, the view was even more incredible. The bathroom had granite counter tops and the showers water was very soft and comforting. The only thing I disliked about the hotel room is that it was not very large.
Every morning, my sister and I would go swimming in the pool for a while and then as a family we would go exploring Las Vegas.
This is the pool and the only picture I
didn't take out of all these.

At our hotel, they had a popular event going on. It is called Siegfried & Roy: The Secret Garden.
As you might know. Siegfried and Roy were two men that would raise tigers and other wild cats from babies and do illusionist acts and magic tricks at the Mirage. They don't do them anymore because on one act, one of the famous men got attacked by his own tiger he had raised as a child. He got so badly injured they had to retire. The entrance fee was fifteen dollars and in the place of the event, we didn't just get to see leopards, lamas, and tigers, but we also got to see some dolphin training.
Here is a picture of a statue of the
two men and a tiger that I took.
On the last night we were there, we went to the Belagio to go get gelato (Italian ice cream). It was just as amazing, creamy, and irresistible as it was last time we got it when we were in Vegas. We went exploring around the Belagio after we had our treat and entered this room that has very unique features. It had roses everywhere, and butterfly models and flowers hanging from the ceiling. There also was a glass room with beautiful moths and butterflies soaring around inside them.
This was one of the butterflies that was inside the sealed glass room.

Here are some of the butterflies hanging from the ceiling.
The Beligo is a beautiful hotel and I definitely recommend you visit there if you ever go on a vacation to Las Vegas.

We walked outside the Belagio and there is a large body of water of a balcony. Every night they have water shows when water shoots out of these pipes under the body of water in unique and beautiful way. It is strangely entertaining.
I tried to catch a picture of when the
water was shooting at its highest.
The picture turned out pretty neat
in my opinion.

I hoped you enjoyed my story of my trip to Vegas!

Just the little things in life that make days great......

Yesterday was the best day I have had all week. It seemed that everything was going my way.

It all started by going to school. I was really exited for the day to be through with because when it was, I would be free from school for another week! For school lunch they served shrimp poppers, potatoes, and chocolate pudding. Usually school lunch is revolting, but this is my favorite lunch! The line went by very quick and when I sat down with my friends, they gave me a strawberry frosting covered cookie! It was amazing! =P

After lunch, the rest of school went through quickly! Before I knew it, IT WAS SPRING BREAK!!
My parents were late on picking me up for some "special" reason the would not tell me about. During this time I was hanging with my friends Emma and Angela, that I haven't seen for ages! We had a blast even though we only got to be together for around twenty minutes.

My dad announced that he had arrived so I walked to the front of the school. There he sat with a shiny new Nissan! It actually was a few years old but we desperately needed a car and this one was in incredible shape! It was silver and the sun reflected off it and made it shine beautifully. The inside didn't have any stains on the part of it that had a carpet like texture. It did, however, have one hundred thousand miles on it! That didn't matter too much because it was an automatic. My sister and I needed that feature for when we drive and the two other cars we have are Subaru and both stick shifts. My sister is sixteen and will get her licence soon. She is terrible at driving stick shifts, but she can drive automatics amazingly. Anyway, we drove home and I enjoyed how smoothly the car moved.

I got home, heated up some hamburger helper, and got dressed for dance class.

I have a beginners jazz class that I go to every Friday. I usually have the most trouble on my turns. Yesterday, however, I was doing them great! I felt so accomplished and talented. It was only a small improvement but it made me feel great.

After the class got out, I went over to my friend Mindys house. After we were at her house for a while, we went over to a girl named Sierra's house. The three of us were just planning to just hang out, but it ended up with three more people. Mindy's friend Alex texted her and asked her if she wanted to hang out so he came over and brought his friend Adam. Then my friend Ethan called me and I gave him directions to Sierra's house too. We all had a blast in Sierra's room as Ethan played the gutiar and we sat and talked for the whole time.

Well that was my Friday and the best day of my week! :)

Las Vegas and Spring Break

I can't wait until spring break! I'm so exited! :) :) ;D
Last year, Spring Break was only a few days long so I am glad that the District changed it back to the traditional week.

Its been years since we went to Vegas. Last time we went, we saw my uncle, Glen. He is an electronic genius! He has helped build rides in Disneyland and helped built the electronical stuff in the Cardinals Stadium. He is really laid back and fun to be with. He had brought his son and our cousin, Jason along with him. We also got to meet Jason's girlfriend.

Last time we were there, we went to Caesars Palace. It was amazing and If I am not mistaken, we went to an inside theme park called Adventureland. I'm not sure if that's what the name was, but I believe it was in Caesars Palace as well. We also went to an arcade somewhere. It was huge! I swear it took up a whole building full of games of all sorts. My uncle gave us twenty dollars each to blow in there. That is a memory I will never forget. After that, my parents gave my sister and I money to get tickets to ride the famous New York, New York. It was about twenty five dollars a person! my sister and I rode side by side screaming. She's is the one that convinced me to go on the ride. When we were going up the largest peak of the roller coaster and I repeatedly said, "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" We were both laughing our heads off regardless of how scared we both were. Right as we went down the steepest peak, it was all fun from there. I love the feeling you get in your stomach when you ride a roller coaster. It is an unforgetable feeling!! :) :) :)

This time when we go to Vegas, we are going to this really nice and fancy hotel called the Mirage. I cant wait to live in luxury! I miss the summer and when we are there the weather will be nice and we can go SWIMMING at the giant pool at our hotel. VEGAS, HERE I COME!! YES!!

ROXY

Here she is! :)
Shes so tiny!

A few days ago, my sister and my mom picked me up from school like any other day. This day there was something unique happening that I wasn't aware of, however. "Where are we going?" I asked as we started to head the opposite direction from home in our little, white car. My mother turned to my sister and asked,"Should we tell her?" "I will," my sister replied. "Kenzie, we are taking you to West Valley." "What are we doing there?" I asked. "We hired a hitman to come and murder you and we are taking you to thier house and dropping you off." My mother and I started laughing and she pulled in to McDonalds and I got a snack. "You think I'm kidding?" she asked with a serious tone. "You better be," my mom said as we continued driving and I munched on my cheeseburger. "Do you want to tell her the REAL reason?" my mom asked my sister again. "MOM! You are horrible at surprises. Just let her try to figure it out for herself!" Suddenly, my mom's phone started ringing. She pulled it out of her pocket and flipped it open. "Hello?" "Yes, yes. I looked up your address on Google Map and I've got cash." "Bye." she flipped it closed. "So you are buying something!" I stated. "What do you think it is?" my sister asked. I tried many guesses and they said I wasn't even close. I didn't care. I love surprises.

We reached West Valley and my mom couldn't find the house with the, "Merchandise," we were purchasing. She asked for directions from two or three different people and we finally found the house. This woman came outside her front door and looked at us with a grin. "Is that my assasin?" I asked. "How did you know?" Christen asked. We opened her gate and walked into her lawn. There I saw a grown doxin that was running around the lawn. "OH MY GOSH! We are not getting a dog are we?" "Not yet." my sister replied with a smile on her face. "The puppies are in here." The woman said. I was shocked. I knew my sister wanted a doxin but I had no idea that we were actually going to get one! We walked into the living room and there was a box in the center of the room filled with blankets. I peered inside and I saw three tiny little puppies. They were so cute! "They are four weeks old." the woman told us. My mom introduced us. "Do you like them?" she asked me. My eyes twinkled. "Yes!" They took the puppies out of the box and they were so sweet and playful. There was three pups, one boy and two girls. My mother had her eye on a particular one. "Which one is your favorite?" my mother asked Christen and I. We both agreed on one of the girls who was especially sweet and adorable. We chatted with the owner for a while and she let out thier mother. The mother was as sweet or even sweeter then her pups. My mother pruswaded the owner to sell us the puppy right away. She handed her three hundred big bucks and we wrapped our baby in a blanket and headed to get some greek food.

"Your father is going to kill us," our mother said. My dad was on a business trip and often when we was gone, we would add another member to our family. It made him angry. We have gotten practically all of our pets without his permision because we know he would say no. We always make him give in. :)

We kept discussing names on the way to the restaraunt and on the way home. We all finally agreed on the name Roxy! It fit her personality so well. We have had her for two days now and love every single thing about her.

The Hozians

My sister and I have a really close friend named Colton. We are practically related. He is a blast and is always up to have a good time and we are really close to his family as well. He has two little sisters that adore us and we love being with them too. Hayley is twelve and Alyssa is eight. Their parent love us too and we call them Mom and Dad. Lets just say, we are like family with the Hozians.

The last two days, Colton had some more realitives that came over. It was a large family reunion and Colton being sixteen hadn't seen them since he was eight. We met his two aunts and his cousin Tina. We got to know her more and more. The more we have gotten to know her, the more we have liked her.

When we first arrived, everyone was in Colton's Basement getting ready we soon learned to watch a homemade movie called JUNGLE FIGHTERS. As we approached the living room, Alyssa gave me a large hug, and then Hayley and I hugged each other so hard we couldn't breath. She sat on my lap as we prepared to watch the movie. My sis sat behind us sipping on a Coke and talking to Colton. Then Dad told us to be quiet because the movie was about to start. The movie had Coltons grandpa and great uncle in it. The movie was about a man whos, "Girl," got stolen and he went though an adventurous and epic journey to get her back. In the end, the, "Girl," (whatever object that might be) was a dog in this case and was saved.

After that, we watched a JUNGLE FIGHTERS 2001 which actually had Colton, Hayley, Alyssa, Mom, Dad, Tina, and Colton's aunt starring in it. They were all much younger then. Colton was about six with his cute, little chubby cheeks, Hayley had just turned three, and Alyssa could barley walk. The movie was also very epic and funny like the last. Hayley was the, "Girl," in this case.

After we finished both movies with laughs and inside jokes, we planned up another JUNGLE FIGHTERS. I think they are going to make it next week as a continued version of the 2001.

I hope that Christen and I will get to star in these traditional movies so we will get to watch them over again every few years and bring back all the unforgetful memories that we shared with our second family.

Jobs

At school last week, we had job interviews. We get graded on how well we do! I don't understand the point! I think it is great that the school wants to prepare us for the future when we get real jobs, but why do they have to grade us on how well we do?

I tried out for a job at the Lagoon amusment park. I tried out for a REAL job. I actually got the job. So this summer while everyone is partying, I will be making people burgers in the food divison. It is going to be a blast. Why did I take the job you ask when I am just complaining about it? I am taking the job because I NEED MONEY!! Some kids my age get beautiful allowances that they can spend freely as they choose but I have to earn my money. I am going to have to work my butt off in the hot sun to get a small six fifty an hour. I guess the good thing about Lagoon jobs is they make you realize how important it is to go to college. I bet it will show me.

Back to the subject....as I said before, I got graded on how well I did on my job interview. I got one out of five on one of the sections because I didn't ask my interviewer any questions. What is the point of that? I didn't have ANY questions! My sister worked at Lagoon last year so I knew all the basics and My interviewer had explained all the rest. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand all the concepts at Lagoon! Plus, they give you a small packet full of everything you will ever want to know about the amusement park and more.

Then, there were the kids that were not even applying for a real job. What was the point of that? The school was just getting spazzy kids worked up for a job they would not even get. Thats just a packet of stress they don't even need.

I noticed that you get asked very bizarre questions at interviews. Such as, "On a scale of one to ten, how trustworthy would you say you are?" What do you expect kids to say? "Well, I think I would say im about, uh, um, a 2 because I tend to steal things." If anyone was a theif, they wouldn't go out and yell it! Or another question I got asked, "What is your biggest weakness?" Am I going to tell them the truth? "I tend to fall ALOT, make messes, and drop things." NO! NO! NO! I actually said, "I don't really have any weaknesses. I'm usually good at everything I try." Guess what? My interviewer replied, "Thats good." You might think that I am horrible to say something like that, but I am guessing you would do the same thing! If not, I apologize I can't be such as saint as you are.

Just to remind you, I got the job!

Criticizing

Why does everyone have to criticize every, single thing? Why can't anyone go through a day without thinking a thought about something or someone, that can be negative or positive, when they don't even know the person?

Have you ever heard the expression, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Everybody does!
When I was in sixth grade, there was this girl in my class (I will not menchion any names). She was slightly overweight and had a lazy eye. She didn't have much friends so my friends and I became her friend. She was really actually nice. Everyone always said all this cruel stuff about her behind her back and made up all these rumors about her when she was a good person. They didn't even know who she was. Some of them didn't even know her name. They still criticized her by the way she looked.

Sometimes there are people in this world that are generally good people, but are not the most gorgeus people in this world. Just because of that, they are criticized and made fun of when they could be the most awesome person in the world to be with.

Here is another example: I have this friend who has black hair, wears eye liner, ect. Everyone who doesn't know her, thinks she is scary somewhat. Let me tell you... She is awesome! She is such a good friend and so much fun to be around. Almost everyone that actually knows her loves her.

Sometimes, people are not critized by thier looks, but just by one small action that they did. Lets say someone got into a fight and you heard someones side of the story but not the other side. If you are friends with that one person, then you are most likely to think of the other person the way they described them to you. You will start to think of all these conclusions about the other person and how horrible they are. They could be really nice after you actually get to know them. You have no clue what that person is like if you just hear who they are thought through another persons eyes.

The thing is, I am not the innocent person in this issue. I criticize myself. Like I said before, everyone does! You might not shout it out, or be the person that spread all the rumors, but in the back of your mind when someone does or says something, you are criticizing them! I do it myself. I will even show you when I do it! My friend has an enemy and they hate each other for various reasons. She told me all the stories and I can see why she feels what she feels from what she has told me. I don't really like that girl even though I haven't even had a steady conversation with her.

So I don't really even know my point here. Alll I am saying is that everyone criticizes and it isn't a good thing. How about we all set a goal here. Try not to say bad things about people because you might not know their side of the story.

BYE!!!

WINTER and its miseries

You walk outside.... Your fingers are revealed to the temperature around you. It goes up your arms, down your legs to your toes, and then it touches the tip of your nose and ears and spreads across your face. Your teeth start to chatter. Your legs start to shake. Your breath is a mist in the foggy air. Everywhere you look is white, White, and more WHITE! I am sick of the winter! Spring needs to come...SOON!

Winter can be fun....at times. I love winter for the first week! You can go sledding or skiing or snowboarding or skating. You get to watch amazing shows on television about famous atheletes doing what they do best: winter sports. You get to wear you adorable sweaters that you just bought with your fuzzy boots and coats. Its all fun...at first!

After a while I start to notice these things happening...
The heater in my house barley works so when I get out of the nice, warm shower in the morning, I am curled up into a little ball trying to warm myself and take away the pircing cold of the winter.

I walk outside hurrying as fast as I can to the blue subaru when I slip of the hard ice. "Thats just great!" I think to myself. "Now I will have a bruise for the next week!"

Then...If your sister has the sudden urge to laugh at your pain, she can do it in less that five seconds. She runs. She jumps! A flash of pain goes though my back preventing me from standing up straight. I slip once again and I am soon laying face down in the snow. My sister, Christen is on top of my back. She is rubbing more and more snow in my face laughing her high, ear drum breaking laugh as I plead her, "GET OFF!!!"

Winter needs to torture me no longer! I need warmth! I want to be able to wear my tank-tops and my short-shorts! I want to go swimming in the cool water in the hot sun! I need to turn my pale body into the old perfect tan I miss! I know I'm crying like a baby! I will do anything (except wait a few more months). I want it to be so hot outside that I can cook an egg on my front porch!

Why can't mother nature make it warm outside? All she needs to do is take her amazing, magical wand and...POOF! Summer is here! Or spring... I really don't care as long as it isn't a cold miseable **** outside.

PLEASE...I BEG OF YOU....DO IT FOR US MORE UNFORTUNATE ONES!

The best water park in the world

There I lay just like every other day in the summer watching some television. It was hot, as usual. I just happened to be watching a program on water parks. This particular show was talking about the two Schlitterbahn Family water parks. One was in San Antonio and the other in Brownsville, Texas. It looked like so much fun as I sat there in the sizzling house....
I ran to my mother and she came and watched the rest of the Program with me.
She agreed that I could go to Texas for my ninth birthday that was just three months awayto visit the inchanting park .

The week came and my birthday was very near. We packed up the car. Unfortunatley, we were going to have to drive seventeen hundred miles in the steaming hot subaru. I bet you can just imagine all the fun we had on that jouney! The hours came and went eventually, and we reached Texas.

I waited and waited for the twelveth to come so we could visit Schlitterbahn. The day arrived.
We bought our tickets and my sister and I could hardly keep still. We were practically jumping up and down with excitement. We purchased some tubes and walked into the water. The lines for the rides were in the water and there was a current that would take you to the different slides. We rode all of them many times. The most unique thing about this park and what makes it the best in the world is that the Schlitterbahn water parks were the only ones at the time that the water slides shoot you up as much as they do down (I dont know if they are still currently the only parks with this feature). My sister and I had a double tube and we went to the highest slide. We zoomed down it and were screaming and laughing the whole way as water splashed up in our faces. Then there was a tilt that was going upward and there was water that was shooting upward with the curve of the slide. It shot us up as quickly as we went down. I had an amazing sensation in my stomach such as the one you get when you ride a dangerous roller coaster. I never think I had as much fun that day then ever before.

After we had been playing for hours, we all knew it was time to leave. My dad bought us some Dip n' Dots that we enjoyed when we were about to head out the door. Then, we saw a suvaneer shop. We all went in together to buy some shirts that we could bring back home. I remember getting a large, purple shirt with three cartoon drawn hawaiin girls wearing grass skirts and coconut bras. It said in large letters, "Schlitterbahn." I also got another shirt with a green, blue, and purple turtle on the front. I loved these shirts and when we got back to Utah, I wore them quite often to school.

I will never forget our fun adventure to Texas and I hope I can go again some day regardless of the high temperatures! :)

GO NINJA

I don't know about you, but i love Ninjas! I am going to tell you a story of how it all started..
Last summer, my friend Kelsey practically lived at my house we were so close. We would do everything together!

My house lives on a hill and the backyard is at a total slant. There is a fence cutting off the ancore long back yard that is so steep it is almost vertical. Another thing about my backyard is that it is covered with trees, bugs, and plants. There is only one opening to go to the back yard.

Kelsey and I decided to go into my backyard to explore. We walked up and down the hill with great difficultly but we still had a good time. As we were walking up the hill, Kelsey saw something in the corner of her eye. "Look its a rope!" I quickly turned my head. There was a rope tied to the top of the fence. She started walking up the steep hill towards it. Kelsey grabbed a hold of it and started climbing up the hill and quicklly hopped the fence. I was amazed how well and fast she did it! I yelled, "Kelsey you are a ******* NINJA!" She started laughing and soon I joined in. "Go Ninja! Go Ninja! Go!" she chanted. I followed her and repeated her same movements but without as much perfection. We walked into the house chanting it together and thats where it all began.

Kelsey and I decided that day that we wanted to continue being ninjas. She had once showed me this Mcdonalds' Rap on Youtube and we both had it memorized. Why not make up a ninja dance to that? We started that day making up a routine while changing some of the words in the rap to improve it and make it more ninja style. By the end of that day when we had it perfected and memorized, my sister 15 year old sister Christen got home from work. We exitedly showed her our routine. She looked at us and said, "You guys are losers." We all laughed together. Kelsey and I both knew she was just jealous of our ninja moves! :)

Emma!

The cell phone rang repeatedly as I ran to answer. I heard a familiar and unique laugh on the other end. It was the unmistakable Emma! She started her story. Was she or was she not coming over this weekend to stay at my house while her dad was in Connecticut? I ran up the stairs to find one of my parents. “Of course she can!” my father said in his deep and creepy voice. I raced back down the stairs to my phone trying not to stumble over my larger then normal feet. I responded to her questions and she gave me another series of her laugh with delight. Emma would be staying at my house all weekend!

I got yet another call on my phone telling me to come outside. I ran out on the wet sidewalk in my bare feet to greet her. A large grin lay in front of me belonging to Mr. Perkins who was helping Emma get her baggage. Our eyes met and she gave me one of what she calls her, “God given talents.” She scrunched up her face in such a way no one can describe or repeat (trust me I have tried)! I giggle and give her a hug. While our parents are talking, Emma runs to greet my sister and gives her the same face expression she gave me. I showed her my room and how it has changed since she was here last. We both jumped on my brand new queen size bed. We looked at each other and knew that this weekend was going to be a never ending disaster of fun!

We both turned on our Nintendo DS and started a game against each other. This is where things started to get intense... We stared screaming at each other and laughing so hard that we couldn’t breathe. In the game, whoever got ten stars first would win, or if you lost all five lives the other person would automatically win. There were things to prevent you from winning so easily of course. You could steal stars from the other person with fireballs or if you died you would lose a star. This game is seriously addicting and I think it could easily lead to a fight. For example, Emma got so pissed that I was winning her so much, she screamed at me from the other room and said, “This is enough!” (I edited what she said and made it more appropriate) She ran into my room screaming at me, jumped on my bed, and tackled me! It was mega funny and terrifying all at the same time!

Hawaii

In fourth grade, I went to Hawaii on a vacation and if I remember correctly it was around spring break and we went for two weeks.

On the plane ride there, I remember eating really, really good ginger ale and lasagna. I was surprised how good airplane food was to me. I couldn't get enought of it! The plane we were on was really nice and I loved looking out the window and watching the ocean.

We went to Kauai on this trip and it was amazingly beautiful there. We stayed at a little hotel right near the beach so we could go anytime we wanted to. We went to a luau one night and I dont think I will ever forget it. There was all kinds of dancing on stage and beautiful music. They were cooking a very large hog that smelt so amazing I can still remember it as I think about it now. There were stands set up everywhere selling all kinds of goods and suvioners. My sister got a wooden coconut bra and and a grass skirt and I got a ukulele that was hand made with a coconut and a wooden handle. It also had thick plastic strings. It was totally out of tune but I loved it. We also got these hand made bracelets that was a plastic string that had all these wooden sphere beads on them that had painted flowers on them. This one lady gave my sister and I both a free bracelet. I was really disapointed because I brought it to school one day and I lost it at recess! :(
After we got all our goods at the stands the dinner was ready. The roasted pork that we ate was amazingly tender and delicious and tasted even better than it smelled.

One time, we went on a public boat ride where they would serve you dinner and take you to go snorkeling. They took us to a beautiful place near an island. I remeber on the way, we rode around this one island and the mountain side had all these wild goats. Anyway, we reached the spot and went snorkeling around and had a blast looking at all the beautiful and breathtaking variety of fish. My sister and I saw a puffer fish and she blew up her cheeks at it and it blew up too. I remember that I couldn't stop laughing and I had a blast.

Our trip to Hawaii was great and I want to go again someday! I cant wait until that day comes!

I'm Jealous of My Sister!

Well I hade a fabulous break! I spent time with my best friend Mindy and I absolutley love her. She is so much fun!

Anyways, back to the topic. I am really jealous of my sister and how much fun activities she gets to do. She is on the cheer competition team that is in Bountiful called Cheerz. She is a level four and is quite amazing. I am proud of her and all her talent, but Cheerz costs 1000s and 1000s of dollars! When school got out for Christmas Break, Christen got to go to Las Vegas with her cheer team! The did all these competitions and had a blast. She also had extra money and while I spent my money on a $25 dollar Christmas Present for her from here she spent her extra money on an adorable sweater from Las Vegas! I had to stay in boring old Utah!

She is a Sophmore and is in a Debate class. As I am typing she is on another trip in CALIFORNIA with her debate team. She might even get to visit my Stepbrother, neice, and nephew that we haven't seen for two or three years. I am dying to see them again! I wish I could be there! Her team also gets to go to Disneyland!! I absolutley love roller coasters more than anything in the world! Here I am in UTAH, the dull state as I like to call it, where nothing what-so-ever happens! This trip cost 500 big bucks!

I know that I probably sound like a winey brat, but i havent been out of this state since the begging of the summer when we went to Colarado! My sister always says that our parents always side with me, treat me like an angel, and spoil me! Who is going to agree with that now?!?
